High Performance 2 Axes CNC Gang Tooled Turning Centers with GE-Fanuc 0i-T conversational control.

The Romi Centur 30G’s incorporate the latest innovations economical bar turning. The 30G’s are designed as bar turning systems with bar loader, parts catcher and chip conveyor as standard. A 5,500 RPM spindle and quick response axes drives provide efficient machining of bars up to 1 5/8” diameter.

Descriptions

Bed: The flat bed is one piece supporting the headstock and carriage. The casting is poured in our own foundry to DIN 1691 standards. Our foundry is ISO 9002 certified and has been since 1994. The bed casting is heavily ribbed and provides excellent vibration dampening.

Guide ways: Guide ways are hardened and ground for maximum precision and long life. The Z-axis moves on the bed which has a vee and a rectangular way. .063” Turcite on the underside of the carriage ensures minimum friction and long life. The cross slide guide ways are a precision ground system with one gib on the side away from the headstock.

Headstock: Driven by an AC motor and connected using a poly-V belt, speeds are continuously variable. The Romi spindle uses ultra precision bearings which are lubricated for life. Spindle bearings are P4 (AFBMA-B7) double angular contact ball bearings in front and SP double-row cylindrical roller bearings at the rear of the spindle. The high load capacity of the bearings provides rigidity and superior vibration dampening under the most severe cutting conditions. Bearings are fully sealed to prevent contamination from coolant or abrasive particles.

Ball Screws: Ball screws are manufactured and ground by Romi where complete control over the accuracy and quality is assured. We are not dependent on commercially available products. The double ball nuts are large in width and diameter. The double nut design provides positive location by mating with both flanks of the screw at all times. This design also minimizes heat distortion. Thermal gauging or temperature reduction systems are not required. The X axis is pre-tensioned using P5 angular contact ball bearings.

Lubrication: Automatic lubrication with line filtration is standard. The reservoir is located at the tailstock end of the machine in plain sight and easy to refill. It is protected from accidental damage. The reservoir has 1/2 gallon capacity.

Guarding: Romi uses 10 gauge, powder coated steel for all external guarding. No accordion guards are used. The door is easy to open and close gliding on multiple rollers. The double overlapping seal ensures that coolant remains in the cutting area, not on your floor. A large safety window allows the operator to monitor machine operations.
